Introducing the latest portfolio of Celso Marrero, a London‑based commercial photographer working at the intersection of lifestyle, sports, culture and product photography. This site serves as a digital showcase of his commercial and personal projects, presenting dynamic, culturally authentic imagery defined by bold colour and contemporary style. It targets brands, creative agencies, and art directors seeking high‑impact visual storytelling and meticulous product work. Playing a central role in establishing Celso’s online presence, the site delivers an immersive experience that highlights his technical skill, narrative approach to movement and lighting, and award‑winning commercial photography.

The user experience
Clarity first, beauty always

The goal was to give visitors a deeply engaging and immersive journey through Celso's work. It was essential that his photography could take centre stage, bold, unfiltered, and free from unnecessary distractions, letting the quality and character of each image speak for itself. Navigation was kept intentionally clean and intuitive. the navigation has a split to select between Celso's "Outdoors" or "Studio" work, since many of his clients need only to see a specific approach for their field of work. Visitors can dive into a more dynamic, exploratory experience through the featured projects.

The design
Minimal by design, fluid by nature

The site takes a clean, minimalist approach where every decision serves the work. Fluid animations guide visitors naturally through the content, creating a seamless and refined browsing experience. Typography is carefully curated, space is used with intention, and the overall aesthetic stays out of the way so Celso's photography can take full presence.

The developement
Smooth under the surface

The site is image-heavy by nature, so performance was a key priority. Every asset was carefully optimised to maintain visual quality without compromising load speed, ensuring a smooth experience from the first interaction. Along the way, new techniques for advanced animation and fluid page transitions were explored and refined.

On the technical side, the backend is built on Sanity Headless CMS, giving Celso full control to update and manage his content with ease. The frontend is developed in Next.js for server-side rendering and enhanced performance, while GSAP, ScrollTrigger and Framer Motion power the animations and interactions. Responsive design principles were applied throughout, ensuring the site looks and feels just as considered on mobile as it does on desktop.
